  • Big Boy

At 1.5 years old, my boy has made it clear that he is all grown up now. He’s speaking up to 25 words now. Way more than what his sister was at this age. He insists on feeding himself everything. He’s given up on the bottle and now just uses a sippy cup. He’s even given up on milk before bed. Furthermore the thing that makes me most sad is that he prefers to go to his crib immediately after our bedtime routines. He used to lay his sweet head on my shoulder and fall asleep there but now points to his crib and insists on falling asleep in his bed. I guess that’s a good thing but something I will miss terribly. This picture was taken during lunch time when he fell asleep eating his noodles. So funny!

  • Playdate

We had a wonderful day with a friend from church and her two kids. Jacob is 2.5 and plays so well with Grace. The two of them just went around the house playing with everything!

Got most of the Christmas decorations up. We get our tree this Sunday from the local school. They are fundraising so it feels good to be part of that.

Caleb is turning 17 months tommorrow and only weighs 18.3 lbs. The doctor is not too pleased with his weight so she’s sending me to see a nutritionist. I think she’s too overly concerned. Grace was tiny and both hubby and I were small growing up. But I will go and see what the nutritionist says. If they see that Caleb eats lots of calories but looses them somehow doctor wants him to see a gastro specialist. I don’t think that’s necessary so we will see.

Gotta hit the sack now. Laters!

  • Keyboard and Church Membership

Just got a $28 used keyboard off of Amazon for my iPad. I’m liking it alot! Hopefully I’ll be able to blog more and document my kids’ lives more.

It’s a very cold and wet Sabbath. We had a nice day in church this morning. We officially transferred our membership to the church we found here in LA. I’m so thankful for the friends we’ve made so far. Moving to the city and knowing not a soul was the hardest part of the whole thing. But now I have a church family and the kids have their friends they see each week. We were called to the front of the church today and the pastor welcomed us and the whole congregation came up and gave us hugs to welcome us into the church. It’s a small church around 60 people or so but we love how friendly everyone is. I’m looking forward to the future and seeing how much God will work in all our lives. As we speak hubby and Grace are out on a walk with some friends. I decided to give Caleb a nap this afternoon which is nice since I have time to catch up on some blogging.

Well that’s all I can come up with for now. Have a great day!

  • Happy 1st Birthday Son!

Caleb’s birthday is on July 6th.  What better way to celebrate than to do it with the rest of our country on the 4th?  We started off the day with a fun little parade in a nearby town  Then later that evening had a small dinner with hubby’s family and then fireworks at the Rose Bowl.  BEST fireworks show I’ve ever seen.  But way toooo many people.  It took forever to get in and out.  Probably won’t be doing that again for quite awhile.

I can not believe my son turned ONE.  We survived the year and I’m so grateful for this handsome fellow in my life. I love you son.  You remind me so much of your father, how can I not be so in love with you?  :)
A little game played to see which item Caleb would go for.  He went for the cooking utensil whisk!  This kid is gonna love to cook with mama!

The Rose Bowl was currently getting renovated.
Some one year pictures of Caleb.

  • Happy Birthday Hubby

Hubby turned 32 years old on July 3rd! This was the 14th birthday I’ve been blessed to be able to celebrate with him. Which meant we’ve been together for a long time! I took him to Roy’s Restuarant, a really yummy Asian/Hawaiian place. We ordered lots of fish. Reminds me of the food when we honeymooned in Maui. We even splurged and got dessert. It was so delicious! So full of thankfulness to God for giving Hubby another year of life. We take our lives/health for granted sometimes. Each birthday is a good reminder that our lives are so temporary here on earth and we should live only to glorify God.

  • Silverwood Lake Camping

Caleb went camping for the first time this month!  He was such a trooper and did really well.

I think Grace had the best time out of all of us.  She loves being out in nature and playing with all her church friends.  The kids also experienced their first boat ride on the lake.  Papa got to practice driving our friend’s boat too.  All in all it was a very memorable weekend at Silverwood Lake.

  • Cambodian Wedding

Hot date with my hubby! Thanks to my sisters watching the kiddos, hubby and I stayed out late and had a nice time just being a couple. I miss those days. As much as I loved being away from the kids, I found myself just talking about them at the wedding to the other moms there. Funny how we moms are.
