  • Moving to a new city

    What a day! Movers dropped off our belongings at 7am. We are all moved in now. G had no problems falling asleep in her new room tonight, so proud of her. Guess it helped that we visited this place several times before we moved in.

    Looks like we will be renting for the next 3-5 years. No rush in buying another home until its our dream home. I am so excited about living here in the meantime. Goodnight!

  • Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

    The holidays were a blur.  So many places and people to visit and so many things to see.  My side of the family had Christmas breakfast.  I made crepes for the first time!  I thought they were delicious!  Christmas was so much fun this year because G is older now and was able to open her gifts.  I think her favorite gifts this year was the toy kitchen she got from mama and papa and the tea set she got from Aunty Terri.

    New Year’s Day we took a nice walk through Descanso Gardens.  The weather was beautiful and G and I got to ride the train through the gardens.  We are definitely coming back here again!

    Love that quote!  I totally agree…a garden and books are all you need.

    Later that evening we met up with some family for a night at the Americana Mall.  C got to ride the trolley and he absolutely had a great time!

    Hope all of you had a great holiday season with your family and friends!  May 2012 bring lots of love and laughter!  God bless!

  • My Son

    Why is raising a son so different from raising a daughter?  I don’t mean to do it but I think my parenting style is very different with both child.  Maybe because Caleb is so more easy going than his sister.  Who knows?  I just know that this little guy found a nice spot in my heart and I am hooked for life!!  He is the most amazing sweet little angel.  I love that he is so sweet and smiles everytime he locks eyes with me.

    Here we are last week at the grandparents house.  They got the tree all set up beautifully!

    Last night big sister was helping me bathe Caleb.  You will not believe what she said!  She noticed Caleb’s “parts” and said, “Brother has a tail!”  Hahaa.  That was real cute.

  • Pumpkin Patch, Thanksgiving, Misc…

    It’s been a while hasn’t it?  I have tons of pictures from the last couple of months and need to update badly.

    ::Pumpkin Patch::

    Some pictures from our trip to the Yucaipa Pumpkin Patch last October.  G is older now and can appreciate it more now.

    When G climbed up the stack of hay, she said, “Just like Baby Jesus.”  She made a connection from the books she had read about Baby Jesus born in the manager and the hay she felt.

    ::Thanksgiving with the In-Laws::

    Thanksgiving this year was filled with lots of blessings, lots of food, and lots of love.  We had so much to be thankful for this year.  First of course is the blessing of our precious son Caleb.  Caleb’s personality is showing itself alot more these days.  He seems so laid back compared to his older sister!  He’s been sleeping through the night since he was 3 months old.  Of course he’ll have a couple nights where he’s up, but for the most part he is sleeping through 8-10 hours now.  Wow!

    Another thing we are thankful for….a new job opportunity for hubby!  Yes, literally the day before Thanksgiving, hubby signed the contract.  We will be moving in February to a new city!   Very exciting and scary at the same time.  LA county here we come! So thankful for another adventure!

    Favorite things to do these days:  paint, color, cut up construction paper and glue pieces on paper, have tummy time with brother, play with her flute, use chopsticks to drum around the house and listen to Christmas music on the music box.

  • Santa Monica Vacation

    Hubby took a week off after taking boards.  We stayed a night with his parents and few days in Santa Monica.

    14 years ago for our first date, hubby took me to the Nature Center close to his house.  We had not been back in 14 years!  It was fun to walk the trails again…this time with two kids in tow!

  • Family Time

    Having two kids hasn’t left me much time to blog.  Things are going well for the most part.  Caleb is now about two and a half months and we have a good schedule going on.  Can’t believe he’s sleeping five hours straight a night now.  That helps out alot!  Grace is adjusting well to having a brother.  She gives him random kisses all throughout the day.  Haven’t seen any signs of jealousy just yet.  On the other hand, she is going through such a whiny stage these days.  She’s really working my patience right now, especially since she gave up her naps a couple of months ago.  She’s about two and a half years old.  I’m hoping the terrible twos will be over soon.  But then I heard it doesn’t even get better at three!

    Well, at least I have weekends to look forward to.  The last few weekends we’ve been able to hang out as a family and just have fun and take some pictures.

  • September 11

    Today marked the 10th anniversary of the September 11 hijacked plane attacks on the United States, in which nearly 3000 people were killed.  I just wanted to say a quick prayer to all the families who lost loved ones that day.  May the Lord of Peace be with all of them today.

    I was not directly affected by the tragedies of 9/11 but I’ll never forget meeting a lady (during my trip to St. Martin a few years ago) who told me her story.  She actually worked in one of the twin towers.  That morning she was summoned last minute to a meeting.  The meeting would take place on several floors below her usual office.  It was by God’s grace that she survived.  If she didn’t go to that meeting, she would have perished along with her coworkers who were on the floors directly above where the plane hit.

    A moment of silence to all the victims of 9/11.

    God bless America.

    I guess you can say we have adjusted to having two kids.  The first week after hubby went back to work was tough.  But now that I have a semi schedule going on, it has been working.  G goes to bed at 10pm and lets me sleep in to about 9am.  I am still very sleep deprived but somehow I just manage.

    G has been so sweet to her brother.  She loves him so much.
